The other night I was just sitting here thinking about how our family used to take weekend outings to the mall when I was young. Did yours do that, too? We would all pile into the car and take the well known drive so that we could stroll through that long strip of indoor shops.
Other members of my family got excited about walking through the stores in hopes of finding that perfect treasure to bring back home, but for me, it was different.
There was something that I was excited about, but it usually wasn’t something that I would bring home with me like clothes, or shoes, or the latest new gadget. No….it wasn’t that. My excitement had more to do with that wonderfully delicious place in the middle of the mall.
Orange, Dreamy, and Delicious…
It was Orange Julius!
Oh how I loved that place! Standing in line I would try to decide which one of those yummy concoctions to order. Somehow, most of the time, the original won out. It was just too hard to say no to that cool orange vanilla yumminess that made me so happy.
After they placed The OJ into my hands, I didn’t care which stores we visited, because it was all good!
Recently, when I sat here thinking about that dreamy drink, it happened again! I started wondering, thinking, how did they do it?
What was in there!?
And then I had the lightbulb moment that happens, and the rushing river of ideas started flooding in. Ideas for healthy ingredients that would combine to create a scrumptious copycat recipe started whirling around in my mind. That’s when I knew that I had to grab a pen and my high speed blender and get to work!
The video and recipe that I’m about to share with you are what happened as a result…..Print
