With summer in full swing, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy some refreshing time in the great outdoors by taking a stroll through your local farmer’s market or making a run to the nearest curbside produce stand. There is simply nothing like homemade treats that make the most of the beautiful produce available to you this glorious time of the year!
Not only is one of our very favorite summertime snacks simple to make, but it’s also simply delicious and completely guilt free.
We are pleased to introduce you to Summer Fresh Garden Salsa!
Now perhaps you think that making healthy things is “just TOO difficult” or you have somehow convinced yourself that you just aren’t much of a “cook”. But we believe that if you try this “recipe” you might just surprise yourself and find it’s much more simple than you think! You can do this!
1. Grab a couple of ORGANIC TOMATOES, wash, and chop them to the size that you prefer for salsa.
2. Toss them into a bowl with some finely diced Vidalia or other mild ONION of choice.
3. Add a finely chopped JALAPENO pepper, 1 clove minced GARLIC, HIMILAYAN PINK SALT, and FRESH BLACK PEPPER to taste.
4. Next add a splash of your favorite VINEGAR (we love balsamic), LEMON, OR fresh LIME juice for a bit of tangy flavor.
Optional: You may also add some finely chopped fresh CILANTRO if you enjoy the flavor. Most in our family like it and it does add some very nice nutritional benefits. You may even want to stir in some freshly diced avocado or organic corn for some additional FLA-VUH!
Now all that’s left to do is stir all the ingredients together and enjoy! (If you prefer a less chunky salsa, you may pulse/blend it quickly in your food processor.)
As with SO many other healthy recipes, this recipe is also not rocket science! You simply add the amounts you like to suit YOUR own taste.
